Interesting but Completely Useless Facts

I was bored and just looking around on the internet when I came across some really random, totally useless, yet oddly interesting facts. They are absolutely useless and have no value whatsoever unless you go on Jeoapardy or another game show. Enjoy. =)

Random Fact #1 When Coca-Cola began to be sold in China, they used characters that would sound like "Coca-Cola" when spoken. Unfortunately, what they turned out to mean was "Bite the wax tadpole".

Random Fact #2 If you plug your nose you can't hum.

Random Fact #3 In Chinese, the KFC slogan "finger lickin' good" comes out as "eat your fingers off".

Random Fact #4 The longest place name still in use is: Taumatawhakatangihangaoauauotameteaturi- Pukakpikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu - a New Zealand hill.

Random Fact #5 A flamingo can eat only when its head is upside down

Random Fact #6 An average American will spend an average of 6 months during his lifetime waiting at red lights.

Random Fact #7 An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

Random Fact #8 The average American eats 23 pounds of pizza per year.

Random Fact #9 The electric chair was invented by a dentist.

Random Fact #10 A crocodile cannot stick its tongue out.

I apologize if any of these facts aren't true, but I did do a good deal of research on all of them so I am confident that most of them are true. I hope this makes you wonder about your dentist, the stupidity of large birds, and the dangers of translating english to chinese. =)
